Our vision is to create a cleaner, more accessible, and connected urban environment through advanced technology and eco-friendly transportation options.Role OverviewAs Government Relations Associate, you will play a key role in supporting 3KMs government engagement, policy advocacy, and expansion strategy across Australia and New Zealand. Working closely with the Head of Expansions and Government Affairs, you will help shape local, state, and federal regulatory engagement, drive stakeholder relations, and execute public affairs campaigns that support 3KMs growth.This role is ideal for someone with experience working with local councils and state governments, who understands regulatory processes, stakeholder management, and policy advocacy, and can support the implementation of government relations and public affairs strategies.If you thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and are passionate about micromobility, urban planning, and sustainability, we want to hear from you.Key ResponsibilitiesGovernment & Policy EngagementSupport the implementation of 3KMs Government Relations strategy, engaging with local councils, state governments, transport authorities, and federal regulators.Lead engagement efforts with city regulators and policy decision-makers, serving as a key liaison between 3KM and government stakeholders.Monitor, analyse, and report on legislative, policy, and regulatory developments, ensuring 3KM is well-positioned to navigate and influence industry changes.Develop advocacy materials, briefing documents, and policy submissions to advance micromobility-friendly regulations.Work with policymakers to support progressive urban mobility policies, advocating for favourable regulatory conditions for 3KMs expansion.Local Council & State Government EngagementBuild and maintain relationships with local councils and state governments, ensuring alignment between 3KMs operations and regulatory requirements.Advocate for micromobility-friendly policies at the local and state level, ensuring sustainable and fair regulatory frameworks.Lead grassroots advocacy efforts, working with community groups and stakeholders to build local support for micromobility initiatives.Assist in securing permits, licences, and operational approvals by working with local councils, state departments, and transport agencies.Stakeholder Engagement & CampaignsDevelop and execute government and public affairs campaigns to drive awareness, engagement, and policy support for micromobility.Work with stakeholders across government, business, and community organisations to foster partnerships that promote 3KMs growth.Coordinate with industry groups, advocacy organisations, and transport policy networks to support strategic partnerships.Represent 3KM at government meetings, industry conferences, and regulatory discussions, positioning the company as a leader in sustainable urban mobility.Assist in organising public consultation events, community engagement sessions, and policy roundtables to build support for micromobility expansion.Expansion & Market Entry SupportSupport the Head of Expansions and Government Affairs in identifying new market opportunities and regulatory pathways for entry across Australia and New Zealand.Contribute to tender applications, proposals, and regulatory filings to secure new operating permits.Assist in navigating the complexities of local, state, and federal regulatory landscapes, ensuring smooth market expansion.Support policy negotiations and strategy development for securing favourable conditions for micromobility operations.Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with Operations, Strategy, and Communications teams to ensure government relations efforts align with business objectives.Provide regulatory insights and strategic input into expansion planning, public relations campaigns, and market positioning.Develop internal reports and policy briefings to support senior leadership in decision-making on government affairs and public policy issues.Skills and Qualifications3+ years of experience in Public Affairs, Government Relations, or Public Policy, preferably within the transport, infrastructure, sustainability, or technology sectors.Proven experience working with local councils and/or state government agencies in regulatory, policy, or advocacy roles.Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, with a demonstrated ability to liaise with government officials, community groups, and regulatory bodies.Experience in developing and executing public affairs campaigns, including grassroots advocacy and coalition-building.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate policy positions and regulatory priorities.Strong knowledge of government processes, legislative frameworks, and public sector decision-making.Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, balancing strategic priorities and execution.Exceptional writing and presentation skills, with experience preparing briefing materials, policy submissions, and advocacy documents.Experience in the micromobility, urban planning, transport, or infrastructure sectors.Background in policy development, lobbying, or parliamentary affairs.Familiarity with licensing and regulatory approval processes for transport operators.Experience in public consultation, stakeholder mapping, or engagement campaigns.Legal or
