Wolston Farmhouse is part of a portfolio of heritage properties managed by National Trust of Australia (Queensland) and a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents: to conserve and advance our natural and cultural heritage for future generations.As we work to develop our education charter and continue to develop the site as a learning playground for future generations, we are seeking a motivated and passionate Casual Education Assistant to ensure a valuable visitor and student experience to support and deliver a variety of programs.About The RoleAs our engaging Education Assistant, you will support our Education Officer with education activities to create a memorable experience for both students and teachers. As a confident communicator, you will support the volunteers to deliver a knowledgeable and valuable experience to provide a valuable heritage learning experience.In this varied role, you will deliver educational programs and host school site visits. This role will focus on delivering content in an engaging and interactive way, which showcases Conservation, First Nations cultures, and colonial history and heritage. As a highly autonomous individual and confident public speaker, you will actively engage with Education groups in a friendly and helpful manner to deliver efficient and friendly service through storytelling of our conservation and environmental endeavors.About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have experience in the education and/or tourism sector with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders. Other key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:Ability and experience in supporting training or education programs for people of different ages and backgrounds.Ability to deliver an education program in a location with minimal supervision, including liaising with other National Trust Team Members.Must be self-directed with excellent time management.Physical ability to walk distances, carry loads up to 10kg, and perform all requirements of this role.Current Working with Children Blue Card or equivalent.An interest in local history of the area & background in education is desirable.What We Can OfferJust as our charter is to protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State, we also are committed to ensuring our Team Members are protected, taken care of, and celebrated!
