Located alongside Royal North Shore Hospital, our teams incorporate scientific breakthroughs into clinical practice, directly improving patient care and the health of our community.The Chief Executive of the Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) and Executive Dean Faculty of Medicine and Health at The University of Sydney are seeking three Clinical Research Fellows to be situated in the Northern Sydney Precinct to support and drive interdisciplinary research activity, as well as build internal research capacity and opportunities for research training of staff in and throughout the Precinct.The Northern Sydney Precinct collaboration between NSLHD and University of Sydney, Faculty of Medicine and Health (FMH) is directed to three major goals: i) developing our students, ii) investing in our staff, and iii) increasing access to clinical trials for our patients.Each of the three Clinical Research Fellow positions (0.4 FTE for two years) will work directly with the Academic Directors to increase capacity of the team to deliver research training and support, and provide a research-active secondment/professional development opportunity for the Fellows to apply research skills, upskill their research training and successfully compete for funding to drive and sustain dedicated research projects.The program represents an exciting opportunity for research focused NSW Health medical, nursing & midwifery, allied health, pharmacy, dental or oral health clinicians currently working in the Northern Sydney Local Health District to develop and apply their expertise in research methodologies, design and delivery to contribute to the University''s/NSLHD''s standing as a national leader in the discipline/service. This opportunity will be offered at level B, Clinical Research Fellow or Level C, Senior Clinical Research Fellow, depending on the skills and experience.Your key responsibilities will be to:Work directly with the Northern Sydney Precinct Academic DirectorsApply and refine expertise in research methodologiesUndertake original research (either independently or as part of a team)Liaise and work closely with senior academics and professional staffEffectively communicate, negotiate, and liaise with internal and external stakeholdersSuccessfully compete for funding to drive and sustain dedicated research projectsEstablish interdisciplinary research activity across the precinctProvide research mentoring and support to staffProduce relevant research projects around functional wellbeingBuild and maintain a reputation for academic excellence to expand knowledge and practice.About youHold or be near completion of a PhD or have appropriate qualifications for enrolmentHold an existing salaried appointment in the relevant field within Northern Sydney LHDDemonstrate a commitment to developing a research career and undertaking health services researchDemonstrate a promising track record of impactful research and publications in their fieldDemonstrate a strong track record of effectively working in and across inter-disciplinary teams, industry and professional institutions, health partners, and stakeholdersHave excellent project management skills, including time and workload managementHave strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to develop and manage relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and work cross-culturallyExperienced in undertaking research in collaborative environments with a range of stakeholders including researchers, clinicians, and/or policy makersHave high level research methods skills, including analytical and writing, evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journalsSponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
