Attendance during school term breaks is required.The Facilities Manager is responsible for the effective upkeep of the grounds and buildings and ensures that Occupational Health and Safety regulations are met. They will be responsible for ensuring that all OHS regulations are followed.The Facilities Manager works collaboratively with the Business Manager and other members of the Admin and Executive teams to ensure that the Asset Information Management System (AIMS) and the Essential Safety Measures (ESM) requirements are met.An education support class role at this range is distinguished by broader management responsibility, in this instance, in the area of the physical resources of the College, where management responsibility is for a range of functions under a wider range of conditions.An education support class position supports the educational services being provided to students but must not include duties of a teacher as defined in clause 2.6.1 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic) or its successor. Supervision of students can be required where it is an integral part of the employees position or in circumstances where supervision is required individually or in groups up to 4 in controlled circumstances and where the responsibility for students remains clearly with a teacher.ResponsibilitiesThe Facilities Manager is an important role with hands-on responsibility for facility improvement, maintenance and minor repairs. Typical duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Plan and implement the Asset Information Management System (AIMS) and Essential Safety Measures (ESM) Program requirements, reporting to the Business ManagerSupervise the work of maintenance and grounds employeesCoordinate contractors onsite and conduct contractor inductions, ensuring that all contractors are fully compliant before attendance onsiteManage the school''s relationship with cleaning contractors, ensuring expectations are met to a high standardManage hire of facilities and provide hirers with advice according to school requirements and Department policy and guidelinesChair Facilities and Sustainability committee meetingsParticipate in relevant training and professional learningBe familiar with the mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems of the school and to keep operational manuals current.
