This role will require you to work independently, build productive relationships and contribute to the establishment of a positive and proactive safety culture.Key responsibilities include:Provide accurate, reliable, timely and current WHS guidance, support and education to ensure all staff understand, competently use, apply and comply with approved policies, protocols, procedures and processes.Work to develop, implement and continuously improve the WHS management system and education programs to improve the safety of staff.Effectively promote the early identification and mitigation of workplace hazards.In consultation with key stakeholders, assist in the development and continuous improvement of Councils SWMS and SWPs.Undertake audits on a weekly basis and provide recommendations to improve Councils WHS and environmental risk management performance.Collate and analyse statistical data with respect to WHS performance on an ongoing basis.Participate in Work Health & Safety Committee meetings.Participate in all outdoor worker toolbox talks to discuss incidents, hazards, and incident investigation outcomes.Assist with onsite risk assessments for high-risk work and other such field support as required.Essential to this role is a minimum of a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, complemented by solid contemporary experience in a WHS role with a sound working knowledge of and demonstrated ability to interpret and apply WHS legislation and regulation, and experience in delivering WHS induction, education and awareness training.This position is offered on a fixed-term full-time basis working 35 hours per week until 17 October 2025.Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 12 of Council''s Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $90,186 - $101,446 per annum plus superannuation, and use of a fit for purpose commuter use vehicle.BE VALUED - THE REWARDSwell Program (Safe + Well at Singleton Council)Fitness PassportEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Your flexible work benefits may include:Work from homeRostered Day Off9-day fortnight4-day weekYour leave benefits include:Concessional Leave between Christmas and New YearLong Service Leave after 5 yearsPurchase of Additional Annual LeaveDomestic + Family Violence LeaveTraining Courses + Professional DevelopmentEducation AssistanceLeadership Development Program''Grow our Own'' ProgramYour reward + recognition benefits include:ESSPecialist Program AwardsService AwardsBe Valued Recognition ProgramWANT TO KNOW MORE?To find out about all the amazing things Singleton Council is doing to add value to our community click here to explore our webpages.Do you want to be valued at Singleton Council?
