Based in the vibrant cosmopolitan City of Boroondara, the role is responsible for:Administering and implementing the provisions of public health legislation and standards through education, advice and enforcement to ensure a high standard of public health.Performing the duties of an authorised officer under the relevant provisions of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008, Food Act 1984, Tobacco Act 1987, Local Government Act 2020 and Environment Protection Act 2017 in accordance with Council policy and delegated authority.Managing a diverse portfolio with exposure to a broad range of investigations including mandatory food inspections, assessing new food business applications, food and water sampling, infectious breakouts, nuisance, tobacco sales and mosquito trapping.The role requires that you are available for after-hours work and participate in the emergency on-call roster.
