Job Description

Our client, a subsidiary of Sumitomo Corporation, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager for their power station located south of the river. Within the group are a number of energy businesses including one of Australia''s largest solar retailers and multiple power stations. This newly created role will oversee daily operations, manage, coach and mentor a team of technical and production staff, and drive continuous improvement, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to regulatory standards.Your Key ResponsibilitiesManage daily operations for efficient and safe electricity generation, ensuring compliance with plant agreements and licenses.Lead and motivate the Operations and Maintenance Team, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.Develop and monitor KPIs to assess plant performance, while driving process improvements and reducing costs.Provide technical support during critical operations and assist in producing quality reports for stakeholders.Collaborate with various departments to resolve operational issues and coordinate plant outages.Team LeadershipGuide the team to meet business objectives, including plant availability and KPI achievement.Implement continuous improvement processes and manage feedback on team performance.Develop team skills and provide coaching for professional growth.Your Experience & SkillsMinimum 5 years in the power industry with relevant engineering or trade qualifications.Proven supervisory/management experience in power station operations.Strong knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental systems.Experience with operational management strategies and CMMS systems (ability to learn MYOB and MEX within 3 months).Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Your AttributesAdaptable, with excellent conflict resolution and decision-making abilities.Analytical, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.Builds trust and credibility as a role model through integrity and successful outcomes.Your QualificationsEngineering or Trade qualifications and at least 5 years in the power industry.Location: South of Perth (within Perth Metro)Package: Base Salary + Super + Discretionary BonusHours: 9-day fortnightStart Date: ASAPContact: Tamara Awudu, Senior Recruitment ConsultantEmail: tamara.awudu@persolkelly.com.au | Phone: 0429 337 739Who Are WeAt PERSOLKELLY, our passion is - and always has been - putting you first.We propel our people forward by supporting their careers in fresh ways, backed by our expertise and capability.We''re committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment which values and respects diverse styles, backgrounds, experience and perspectives.We welcome and encourage women, people of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent and people from diverse backgrounds to apply.So it''s over to you.
