From 21 offices in 9 countries, with projects in over 80 locations worldwide, we create sustainable outcomes for our people, clients and communities.We are currently looking for a Lead Structural Engineer to join our team based in our Newcastle office to support recent business success and growth.About the roleEnsure Structural Design Deliverables are completed according to standards, checked, approved, and issued to other disciplines and to the client with revision control documentation.Act in a client-facing role to lead and coordinate the activities of a project team to ensure time and budget objectives are achieved.Generate and review technical documents and deliverables.Prepare specifications, design criteria, scope of work, and material take-off lists.Prepare engineering proposals and monitor budgets, staying within the assigned budget and reporting any discrepancies.Complete tasks under minimal supervision ensuring that objectives of cost, quality, and time are met.Maintain a high level of communication with the Project Manager / Engineering Manager and regularly inform of technical activities, staffing, budgets, and schedules, explaining reasons for actions taken.Contribute to the ongoing development of the Structural Engineering Team to deliver and implement best practice technical solutions by applying knowledge of industry developments and experience.Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.About youBachelors degree in structural engineering.10+ years proven technical experience with an engineering consulting firm or other large organization. Construction experience is desirable.Accreditation as a Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) or ability to obtain.Strong design experience in a brownfield environment is highly desirable.Demonstrated experience in client-facing project management roles, leading design teams to deliver project outcomes.Demonstrated experience in the design of steel structures and concrete foundations for industrial and mining projects.Enhanced knowledge of the Engineering ISO, AS, ANSI, API, etc. standard design codes.Ability to mentor and support the development of structural engineers within the Ausenco team.Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and as part of a multidisciplinary group.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Why Ausenco?We support individual growth and aim to allow you to work in a way that plays to your strengths.
