We are leaders in our communities in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, Coffs Harbour and the Gold Coast and pride ourselves on helping shape a better tomorrow.About the opportunitySouthern Cross Analytical Research Services (SCARS) provides commercial and research analytical services through its two key teams, the Environmental Analysis Laboratory (EAL) and the Analytical Research Laboratory (ARL).We are seeking a detail-oriented Sample Receipt/Administrative Assistant to provide high-quality administrative and client support in the Environmental Analysis Laboratory. In this role, you will:Be the first point of contact for incoming commercial and research environmental samples.Enter client, sample and analysis data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).Liaise with external laboratories regarding subcontracted sample analysis and results.Provide client support, assisting with a high volume of phone and email enquiries and escalating where appropriate.Assist with preparation, labelling and packaging of samples for transport to external laboratories.Work collegially with laboratory staff to ensure clear lines of communication.About youYou will thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy working with accuracy and attention to detail. More specifically, you will have:Experience in general office administration with strong time management and organisational skills.Excellent customer service skills with the ability to respond to client enquiries in a professional and timely manner.Strong data entry and record-keeping skills, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.Highly developed problem solving skills with great communication skills, both written and verbal.Salary and benefitsOur staff benefit from flexible work arrangements, including hybrid work models, generous parental and carers leave provisions, wellbeing initiatives, employee assistance programs and professional learning opportunities. This position is:Full-time, continuing (permanent).Located Lismore, NSW 2480.HEW Level 3. The base salary ranges from $65,762 - $71,756 per annum, plus 17% employers contribution to superannuation.
