About the RoleAs a Trades Assistant, your primary focus in this role will be to ensure our range of fleet vehicles are serviced and maintained in a timely, efficient and cost-effective manner. Additionally, you will provide support to the Service Manager and Mechanics as required.Duties and ResponsibilitiesServicing vehicles in line with manufacturers specifications and company standards, including carrying out minor repairs and preventative maintenance checks on fleet vehicles (e.g. replacing fluids, changing oil/air filter, tyres, brakes, ski racks etc.) including cars, trucks and company fleet.Monitor inventory and request order of new parts when necessary with Service Administrator.Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.Perform diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems.Complete Repair Orders.Providing breakdown assistance when necessary.Preparing vehicles for handback and sales.Testing and general servicing of workshop equipment for safety.Keeping accurate and on-time job records and recording servicing history in applicable systems.Attend company/manufacturer training as necessary.Working efficiently and effectively in a team environment to maintain a culture of service excellence and accomplishing organisational goals under limited supervision.Driving vehicles as required.Other reasonable duties as requested by the Service Manager.Skills & ExperiencePrevious experience working as a Motor Mechanic.Good communication skills.Initiative.Judgement / Problem Solving.Attention to Detail / Quality Orientation.Teamwork/Collaboration.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Benefits and PerksHourly pay + loadingsWellbeing programme incl. life insurance + discounted health insurance + superannuation options.Access to Perkbox discounts and offers with hundreds of retailers and big brands, including on cinema tickets, fitness classes, shopping discounts and much more.Employee discounts on car rental across Avis Budget Group.Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) provided by Converge 24/7 support for your mental health and wellbeing.Full training provided to help you achieve your goals & reach your potential.About Avis Budget GroupWe don''t just rent cars.
