Avondale University is seeking applications for a Student Success Coordinator, to join the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic (DVCA) office on the Lake Macquarie campus on a full-time, 2-year contract with the possibility of extension.Be part of the transformation.This important role is responsible for supporting students with a focus on all equity group students. You will be responsible for coordinating all student support services, working closely with students and staff to ensure Avondales students are supported to do their best.What will you do?Some of the main duties will include:Coordinate the administration and delivery of all student support services and facilitate communication of key information regarding student support services between all relevant parties.Sensitively and confidentially manage complex student cases where greater than usual support may be required and ensure communication of outcomes and follow-up actions.Be the key point of contact for Course Convenors seeking to refer students to support services, and for students independently seeking advice regarding support services.Contribute to effective communication and collaboration across functional areas of academic staff, professional staff, support service staff, and students.Undertake ongoing review of processes, keep informed of best practices across the sector, and work with the Student Support Committee to ensure continuous improvement and enhanced delivery of support services to Avondales diverse cohort of students.Ensure compliance with university and government record keeping and reporting requirements and manage sensitive student data in a confidential and professional manner.About youTo be successful in the Student Success Coordinator Role, you will be a highly motivated individual with great interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and support Avondales students.A willingness to strongly support the mission, values, and ethos of Avondale.Tertiary qualification/s in a relevant discipline (e.g. Welfare, Social Work, Psychology), or an equivalent combination of skills, experience, and qualifications.Advanced interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to professional, collaborative and collegial behaviour (the appointee will be required to interact diplomatically with Avondale students, staff and administration as well as other stakeholders).Demonstrated ability to exercise independent and informed judgement in problem-solving.Capacity to develop a working knowledge of Avondales academic programs, procedures, and policies (demonstrated by previous experience in mastering complex information).Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.Demonstrated use of initiative and responsiveness in managing tasks and achieving goals.Demonstrated organisational and time management skills, attention to detail, and precision.Excellent IT skills across a range of programs including Word and Excel and capacity to adapt to new software.Demonstrated experience in coordinating programs that enhance the student/client experience and facilitate engagement and retention.Cooperate with all work health and safety policies and procedures related to the work being undertaken and ensure that their actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of others at Avondale. Promote a safe workplace and identify unsafe practices.Understand and support equal opportunity principles.Experience in a Christian higher education support context or other context where similar knowledge could be applied.Experience in record keeping, analytics, and report writing.Understanding of an online learning environment.Special Job CriteriaThis position has been classified as child related work.
