Due to unexpected personal circumstances of the appointed Class 1 Teacher, they were unfortunately unable to commit to the journey with this class. However, the children have started their year with an experienced Steiner Teacher who was able to step in temporarily and have already begun to settle into the rhythms of Class 1. The teacher works creatively, seeking to find a fresh connection to the developmental needs of the children.The teacher will:Be accountable for the teaching and pastoral care of their students, collaboratively engaging with peers across the School for the benefit of the children in their care, and the school as a whole.Be committed to ongoing individual and collaborative professional development in Steiner education, wider educational developments and evidence-based practice.Be responsible for maintaining positive relationships with colleagues, parents/guardians and participate actively in the life of the school community.Have capacity to support and educate parents about primary education in Steiner schools, while holding a conscious awareness of the role of the parents and guardians in their childs education.Be a fully Registered Teacher with Queensland College of Teachers.In all aspects of their role act with professionalism, accountability and camaraderie with all other staff members, and in accordance with the schools visions and goals.Selection Criteria:The ability to creatively plan, deliver, monitor and assess an outstanding education program for a diverse group of students.An understanding of the principles of Steiner Education and a demonstrated desire to continually deepen that understanding.Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, including the use of school-management software systems and Information Technology.Experience in classroom teaching, preferably in a Steiner School.Demonstrated commitment to bringing the curriculum to life through the use of the arts and other methods.
