Seeking a couple to manage the successful operation of our Mechanic Workshop in Lajamanu. We support this through our Retail, Community Services, Enterprise and Corporate divisions.About the roleALPA is seeking a Workshop Manager (full time) and Administrator (part time) to manage the successful operation of our mechanic workshop in the remote Indigenous Community, Lajamanu. This opportunity is ideal for couples, with one role for an experienced full-time mechanic and the other for a part-time administrator.The Workshop Manager will supervise, quote, diagnose, undertake, and charge for mechanical repairs within the competency of a light vehicle mechanical tradesperson and workshop manager.The Administrator will provide efficient, effective, quality administrative support to ensure the successful operations of the workshop. This includes managing records, handling customer inquiries, coordinating schedules, and assisting with financial tasks.The LocationLocated on the northern edge of the Tanami Desert in the tropics, Lajamanu is a vibrant Warlpiri community with a population of around 750 people, including the smaller outstation Lultju. Lajamanu has a post office, library, recreation centre, school, police station, health clinic and a convenient shop where you can find fuel and other necessities. Takeaway food options are also available.Skills and ExperienceCertificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent based on a 4-year apprenticeship in mechanical vehicle trades.Significant experience in diagnosing faults and repairing a wide range of vehicles including 4wd.Highly effective interpersonal skills including proficient written and oral communication skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of people from all education levels, language abilities, and ethnic origin.Experience using an electronic stock control and invoicing systems.An unrestricted NT C class driver''s license or ability to obtain.BenefitsCompetitive salary with ability to salary package with additional benefits and money saving rewards + 13.5% super.Accommodation and Utilities provided.Relocation assistance.7 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading.Interested?APPLY NOWALPA is an equal opportunity employer, we encourage First Nations people and those from diverse backgrounds to apply.
