Young people who are admitted to the unit will have a primary diagnosis of mental illness across a wide range of disorders and complex needs.As a Deputy Ward Manager, you will empower recovery and deliver supervision to staff across the ward to deliver great healthcare. You will work alongside the senior Nurse and Ward Manager to co-ordinate the on-call service and manage the ward budgets, and lead by example, acting as a role model to all members of the nursing team, leading care teams and creating a positive learning environment that makes a difference and changes lives for the better.Other duties include:Providing Clinical Leadership and expertiseProviding leadership and guidance to support a unified service and engaged workforceEnsuring that high standards are in place, followed and improved in accordance within the Clinical Governance frameworkUtilising and supervising all nursing staff effectivelyBeing an expert resource on Nursing care of service users within the specialism and hold a key role in the multidisciplinary teamMaintaining a positive and collaborative environment to allow ward members to reach their potential and maximize their ability to provide high-quality care, staff welfare and staff trainingDesignated to take charge of the ward in the Ward Manager''s absenceThings that you will have:A relevant nursing qualificationNMC registrationA positive attitude and be naturally caring and compassionateA commitment to high-quality care and to values and evidence-based practiceRelevant experience in a similar environmentProven track record of leadership skillsWhere you will be working:Location: Emerald Place Clinic, Farmfield Drive, Charlwood, Horley, RH6 0BNEmerald Place Clinic is a general adolescent inpatient unit for the care and treatment of young people aged 13 up to the age of 18.
