Specialising in the supply, installation, and servicing of new, used, and refurbished generator sets, we power everything from commercial and industrial projects to domestic and recreational applications.As a trusted Australian brand, we continue to innovate and expand, ensuring businesses and communities have reliable power solutions when they need them most.Your roleMacfarlane Generators is seeking a Field Service Department Manager to lead our Clayton South, VIC team.Reporting to the Branch Manager and working closely with the National Field Service Manager, you will oversee all field service operations, ensuring efficiency, quality service delivery, and compliance with company policies.More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:Leading and coordinating the Field Service team to ensure seamless daily operationsManaging job scheduling, service reports, and preparing quotes and cost sheetsDiagnosing and fault-finding issues in power generation equipment, ensuring timely resolutionsCommunicating with customers, providing expert advice, and ensuring high service standardsOverseeing quoting, pricing, costing, and standardising procedures for field service jobsManaging on-site service, repairs, and maintenance of small to medium-sized power generation equipmentCoordinating multi-state service and maintenance for national customersEnsuring compliance with OH&S and environmental regulations at all work sitesManaging warranty claims and liaising with manufacturers such as Cummins, Promac, Powerlink etc.Maintaining accurate service records, customer databases, and reporting systemsConducting regular toolbox meetings to reinforce company policies and service standardsIdentifying new business opportunities to grow the Field Service DepartmentWhat Youll Bring to the RoleTo qualify, you will need a trade background in electrical or diesel mechanics with experience in power generation service. A current drivers licence is also essential, as this role requires regular job travel.Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:Experience with Cummins, Deep Sea and Comap Control SystemsProven leadership experience, with the ability to manage, mentor, and coordinate a teamStrong technical skills and hands-on knowledge of power generation equipmentAbility to diagnose and fault-find issues in power generation systemsComputer literacy, ensuring accurate paperwork, reports, and service recordsAs our ideal candidate, you will have strong communication skills, confidently engaging with customers both over the phone and in person. Your mature, knowledgeable, and professional approach will be supported by a solid mechanical and/or electrical background. You will be a problem-solver who thinks on your feet and applies common sense to achieve effective outcomes. Flexibility and adaptability will be key as you manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
