Our Level 3 Advanced ApprenticeshipsOur apprenticeships allow you to study for industry-recognised qualifications whilst earning a competitive salary. As an apprentice, you will study with a training provider, such as a college, and combine this experience with real responsibilities in the workplace. Your study pattern could be day or block release, or via distance learning, depending on the course that you enrol on. A dedicated mentor will guide you through your personal and professional development. Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships have a typical duration of two to three years, during which you will attain both a professional and academic qualification to further your career. Our apprentices are employed on a permanent basis, so you''ll continue to progress with Arup once you''ve completed your course.The OpportunityLevel 3 Advanced Apprenticeship opportunities are available in Newcastle in the following areas:Civil EngineeringYou will help a team including engineers and other professionals to assess, design and supervise civil engineering works. You''ll work on a wide range of projects - from roads and pavements to car parks, drainage, and earthworks, flood defence, dams & reservoirs and water treatment works.Projects and designs will come in all shapes and sizes, and could involve highways, bridges, and rail schemes. You could also get involved in the computer modelling and drawing of access roads, civil structures, bridges and utility infrastructure.Furthermore, you will help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients. As part of your apprenticeship, you''ll study towards a Level 3 qualification in Civil Engineering with one of our local partner colleges.Bridges And Civil StructuresThe Bridge and Civil Structures projects and designs come in all shapes and sizes and typical projects could involve working on highways, bridges, rail schemes, roads & pavements, drainage & flood defences, dams, reservoirs, sports stadia, schools, universities, offices and industrial premises. You could also get involved in the computer modelling and drawing of access roads, civil structures, bridges, and utility infrastructure.Day-to-day duties will involve supporting the wider team delivering projects; tasks will vary with current projects but might be expected to be dominated by computer modelling and 3D design as well as production of engineering drawings and deliverables. Beyond this, performing calculations and/or contributing to engineering reports as well as working outside the office to inspect existing structures and/or visit ongoing construction sites may also be required.You will help us to deliver effective and professional services for a range of varied and high-profile clients, and as part of your apprenticeship, you''ll study towards a Level 3 qualification in Civil Engineering with one of our local partner colleges.Minimum RequirementsWe are looking for candidates with five or more GCSEs at grade C/4/5 or above including Maths (Grade B/5/6 or above), English and Science or their equivalent.Is this role right for you?We''re looking for apprentices who are curious and ready to evolve how they think and work.Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas.
