We will provide you with all the training, support, and personal protective equipment you need in your role and will help you develop, should you decide you want to develop your career with us.There are 4 people living in the bungalows at Shillmoor, we are all very different and have different needs, we are 19-60 in age.Most of us wont need any physical assistance but we may need staff support when we go out and about. We have different challenges in our lives which include autism and learning disabilities. We have a staff team who are all trained in our specific needs and are familiar with us.We all enjoy different activities, including walking, swimming, trampolining, LEGO, and many other things.Other interests we have are watching retro cartoons, listening to music, visiting museums, home baking, and some of us like to go on day trips.We would not enjoy spending time with people who are bossy, in a hurry, or very noisy as it would tend to make a few of us upset.There are always at least 7 colleagues on shift.We like our staff to work 8am to 10pm and Nights 10pm to 8am. We also have a waking night shift in some of our homes. We also have a core team that is based in the staff bungalow but can help if needed these staff work 2 x 10pm to 8am and another 9am to 5pm.In order to support us to have the Best Life Possible our team have specialist training in Positive Behaviour Support, Total Communication, autism, and learning disabilities.The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 in Social Care and strong experience in mental health, autism, sensory communication, physical health, and PBS experience.If you do not have a qualification, you will need to have experience in social care.You will know how to connect with people and be passionate about supporting people to live independently. You will also be a brilliant mentor and share your skills and experiences with your colleagues.We will develop your talents with a range of specialist training, including the opportunity to learn Positive Behaviour Support methods, Makaton, and the Picture Exchange System.During recruitment, you will meet the people we support in their home.
