You will work autonomously while collaborating with cross-functional teams to build, refine, and optimise data-driven solutions. Your work will be instrumental in improving digital experiences across our web and app platforms.Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:Define and drive the AI roadmap for product data, collaborating with business stakeholders to identify, size, and prioritise opportunities that enhance data quality, automation, and personalisation.Develop and optimise machine learning models and GenAI data solutions for product data enrichment.Design and implement content scoring algorithms to enhance the quality, accuracy and relevance of product data.Set up and automate data jobs on GCP, leveraging services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Apache Airflow, and Vertex AI pipelines, to provide a reliable and scalable set of data attributes for business consumption.Build scalable data pipelines to support end-to-end delivery of production-ready data assets, balancing cost, speed, security and business impact.Ensure data governance and quality best practices, setting up data quality checks, load volume monitoring, anomaly detection, and cost attribution to track and optimise operational efficiency.Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that drive measurable value.Champion best practices in MLOps and model development, ensuring robust monitoring and continuous improvement of deployed models.What youll bringIdeally at least 5 years of experience in the data science field as a hands-on practitioner.Strong technical expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and GenAI, with hands-on experience developing and deploying models in cloud environments (e.g., GCP, Vertex AI, BigQuery).Experience in end-to-end machine learning model development, from data processing and feature engineering to model training, evaluation, and deployment.Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).Experience with MLOps and CI/CD pipelines for automated model training, deployment, and monitoring.Strong understanding of core data engineering concepts, including:ETL/ELT pipelines and data ingestion strategies.Data modeling (relational and non-relational databases).Data orchestration (e.g., Cloud Composer, Apache Airflow).Data partitioning, indexing, and query optimisation.Data quality and validation frameworks.Security best practices for data pipelines and access controls.Deep knowledge of data governance and data quality.Experience working with GCP services or other Cloud providers.A strong sense of ownership and initiative, with the ability to drive data science projects from ideation to execution.Business acumen and stakeholder management skills, ensuring alignment between data science solutions and strategic business goals.An interest in emerging AI and ML technologies, with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.What youll experienceTeam discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.High impact role supporting our teams who enrich our communities.A range of programs to help you prioritise and manage your wellbeing, including 24/7 access to the Sonder app.A progressive and competitive leave policy that gives you more space for what matters to you.Endless possibilities with Woolworths GroupWere a proud part of the Woolworths Group 200,000+ bright minds, passionate hearts and unique perspectives working together connected by a shared Purpose to create better experiences together for a better tomorrow.
