Communities and Justice aims to achieve a safe, just, and inclusive New South Wales (NSW) by operating an effective legal system; increasing access to social and affordable housing; protecting children and families; addressing domestic and family violence; promoting public safety; reducing reoffending; and supporting community harmony and social cohesion.The Role:This is a new role that involves providing project management and support for the development of a Circularity Action Plan for the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) under the Choose Circular program.What You Will Do:Lead the delivery of DCJs Circularity Action Plan in line with Choose Circular funding requirements.Manage relationships with contracted service providers, ensuring project scope, quality, timeline, and budget are met.Collaborate with DCJ''s Commercial Management, Strategy, Innovation, and Sustainability teams.Document and analyse DCJ procurement processes, collecting relevant data across the supply chain.Engage with other NSW Government agencies working on circular economy initiatives to share insights and address challenges.Coordinate and attend meetings for the DCJ project working group and related agencies.Prepare and present progress reports for the Choose Circular program and contribute to the DCJ Climate Change Strategy.Involvement in additional projects related to infrastructure planning, asset management, and strategic investments across various portfolios.Key knowledge and experienceUnderstanding circular economy principles and sustainable procurement, including policies and processes.Experience in data collation and data analysis.A relevant Tertiary degree in Science / Environment / Engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.Project management skills and problem-solving ability.Ability to confidently and independently engage with external and internal stakeholders.Ability to build relationships to support coordination and communication of project delivery.Effective communication skills including the ability to write reports to support program delivery and reporting requirements.Familiarity with procurement and tender processes would be valuable.We focus on hiring people who share our commitment and goals of inclusion, collaboration, adaptability, courage, and integrity.
