Serving communities from Helensburgh to Kiama, we are equally dedicated to supporting families and carers while cultivating a positive, inclusive, and growth-focused workplace for our team.Role Overview:Ello Care is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Human Resources Specialist to join our team in Wollongong. In this pivotal role, you will play a key part in attracting, hiring, and retaining talented individuals who share our passion for making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities. Your focus will include talent acquisition, onboarding, and enhancing our employer brand, while also contributing to broader HR initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive, and growth-oriented workplace culture.Key Responsibilities:New hires of disability support workers and admin roles: Use platforms like SEEK and Indeed to proactively source, attract, and engage support workers with a passion for the NDIS sector.Recruitment Process Management: Oversee the entire recruitment lifecyclefrom drafting job descriptions and posting roles to screening resumes, coordinating interviews, and ensuring an accurate recruitment drive.Candidate Management & Interviews: Conduct pre-screenings, schedule interviews, and liaise with our Service Manager to identify suitable individuals. Manage recruitment and onboarding processes for new employees end to end.Onboarding & Inductions: Design and implement a seamless onboarding experience to integrate new hires effectively, making sure they are fully equipped and confident in their roles.Employer Branding & Market Positioning: Develop and promote our employer brand, highlighting Ello Care''s supportive and inclusive culture. Craft outreach messages and branding initiatives to attract top talent to our growing team.KPI Development & Tracking: Work closely with the management team to establish KPIs for recruitment, candidate engagement, and placements, ensuring transparency and progress reporting. Design a structured performance review system that is tailored to the specific needs of employees working in the psychosocial disability sector. Ensure the framework includes both qualitative and quantitative performance measures, such as staff engagement, participant feedback, job competency, and adherence to NDIS guidelines. Create tools and templates for consistent evaluations across all staff members. Identify performance issues early and take proactive steps to address underperformance or areas of concern.Process Optimisation: Continuously improve recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring alignment with Ello Care''s culture and growth objectives.Additional HR Support: Assist in the development of HR policies and procedures, support performance management, and contribute to employee development programmes as needed.Understand and Apply the SCHADS Award: Ensure compliance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHADS) Award, including pay rates, classifications, and employment conditions for all staff. Accurately classify employees according to their roles and responsibilities, applying the correct pay scales and ensuring fair compensation in line with the Award. Monitor and manage employee entitlements such as leave (annual, sick, carers leave), overtime, penalty rates, and public holiday pay, ensuring all entitlements are granted according to the Award.Profile:Relevant qualifications in HR or a related field (e.g., Cert IV or Diploma in HR).Experience in the NDIS, aged care, or healthcare sectors is ideal, with a strong understanding of sector-specific needs and challenges.Strong experience in recruitment, including full-cycle recruitment and sourcing for roles in NDIS, aged care, or healthcare.Versed in Microsoft Office products and digital web-based applications (e.g., HRIS, payroll systems, applicant tracking systems).Strong skills in interpreting awards (e.g., SCHADS Award) and providing clarity on employment conditions and entitlements.Experience in developing policies and procedures for a small business, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.Great problem-solving skills, with the ability to think independently and find solutions to HR and operational challenges.Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.A strong team player, collaborating effectively with colleagues, leadership, and stakeholders to achieve organisational goals.Passion for supporting individuals with disabilities or aged care needs and contributing to a positive, inclusive workplace culture.Why Join Ello Care?Become a valued member of Ello Care''s passionate and supportive team, where we are committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of people with disabilities.
