We are seeking a Fixed-Term Contract Administrator to join our projects Thornleigh Inlet/Outlet Main Project (TIOM) and the Metro Northwest Project (MNW) in Sydney.As contract administrator you will assist in preparations and negotiation with sub-contractors for the calling of quotations, and letting of contracts and provide contract administration services to assist in the project''s control of contract costs.Your Role and Responsibilities:Conduct initial investigations with subcontractors to clarify the organisation''s conditions relating to contracts for prospective projectsManage and drive the review process to ensure the award of all subcontractors within the required time frame and budgetMaintain a register of subcontractorsOperate and maintain commercial and contract systems including Project Costs Reporting (PCR), Asset Registers, Commercial Pack database and Contract Sum.Minimise all subcontractor variation claims and elimination of claims where possibleEnsure cost forecasting for allocated subcontracts and cost codes are accurately maintained and keep project management teams abreast of any costs issues immediately upon identificationInterpret specifications and drawings so as to understand scope of works for the project at Head Contract and Sub Contract scope levelParticipate in identification and quantification of Head ContractsManage subcontractors to ensure that Code compliance is maintained at all timesAssess commercial and contractual risks involved in delivery and implementation of projects and identify and implement controlsCheck compliance and prepare reporting on commercial performance of the contractProcess and recommend progress claims for work completed and refer disputed claims by subcontractors to the relevant manager for decisionUndertake general business administrationPerform all duties in accordance with Bouygues Construction policies, processes, systems and proceduresQualifications and Experience Required:Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Economics, Quantity Surveying, Law, Commerce or equivalentPost graduate qualifications e.g. graduate certificate, graduate diploma in Commerce, Accounting, Business, Construction, Property, Quantity Surveying, Law or other associated disciplinesRelevant commercial administration experience in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or associated disciplines2-5 years experience working as a Contracts Administrator or Quantity Surveyor in the construction and engineering industryExperience with a variety of project values and complexityUnderstanding of document control experience in accordance with records management proceduresInterpret and apply relevant legislation/code on the project to prevent potential business exposureExperience in negotiating with sub-contractorsPlease note that this position is located on-site and FIFO (Fly-In-Fly-Out) is not available.Why Bouygues Construction Australia?At Bouygues Construction Australia, were dedicated to the design, construction, financing, and delivery of nation-shaping projects across civil, road and rail infrastructure, renewable energy, and services.Bouygues Construction: Building for LifeWith a global workforce of 32,500, Bouygues Construction is driven by the most exciting responsibility of allbuilding for life.
