An opportunity exists for a Logistics Manager to become part of our team; Australasias largest co-product stockfeed supplier.Castlegate James has been helping Australian and New Zealand farmers and animal nutritionists achieve optimum livestock production targets through a range of high-performance, specialty coproduct stock feeds. Our product range includes major grains, protein meals, manufactured moist feeds, traditional grain mixes, sugar/starch/energy mixes, pellets, and an extensive range of co-product stock feeds sourced from the food and beverage industries around Australia.This role will be in our Head office in Tullamarine and reporting to the General Manager Operations.The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire Australian logistics operations, ensuring the efficient and effective movement of goods across the supply chain. This includes coordinating the flow of materials, products, and services from suppliers to customers, managing transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.Your responsibilities will include:Control and co-ordination of the CJAs Logistics functions, including direct responsibility for incoming and outgoing transportation of the Companys products with optimum efficiency, safety, and economy whilst maximizing supplier and customer service levels at collection and delivery.Develop timely, accurate business reporting tools to monitor costs and performance against budget, including shipment/DIFOT measures, inventory control measures, freight and labor cost measures, and safety compliance indicators.Monitor daily transportation performance and resolve any delays, damage, or service issues on an ad hoc basis as well as drive future improvements.Ensure we are getting the optimum freight rates from suppliers and that these are reflected in our ERP system (Microsoft D365).Oversee accurate and timely recording and documentation of freight rates in accordance with negotiated supply agreements.Work in close co-operation with Sales and Operations teams to ensure sales and distribution strategies are aligned.Regularly keep up to date with market intelligence on logistics developments and inform the business as required to make timely decisions.Ensure all suppliers are compliant with Chain of Responsibility requirements.Oversee co-product supplier collection procedures and performance to ensure supplier site storage is effectively cleared in a timely manner and supplier site operations are always uninterrupted.Ensure any incidents are reported promptly, in accordance with Company Policy and ensure all risks related to such incidents are mitigated as a matter of urgency to prevent re-occurrence.In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, ensure all CJA logistics assets are maintained and are fit for purpose.Key Performance Indicators:The financial performance of the Australian Logistics Team against budget and forecast.The maintenance and profitability of existing supply arrangements including contracted supply agreements.Supply chain cost savings against budget and forecast.Non-Conformance and Incident Reports related to Australian Supply Chain and the prompt and effective management and resolution of these.Experience Profile:Demonstrated experience in a similar role in Logistics for a minimum of 5 years.Exposure to FMCG environment.Understanding of Chain of Responsibility requirements in Australia.Strong exposure to logistics and demand planning.Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).Strong experience in ERP system management for supply chain, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365.Strong understanding of transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and logistics software tools.If you meet the above criteria, please send us a cover letter as to why you believe you are suitable for the role and your resume. #J-18808-Ljbffr
