Teacher - Sport/Leadership & Management - Hawthorn College of SportBased at Hawthorn Football Clubs VenuesCasual opportunity availableAttractive remuneration package offeredAbout the role:A new and exciting, casual opportunity to join Box Hill Institute as our Sport/Leadership and Management Teacher in partnership with Hawthorn College of Sport!Box Hill Institute has partnered with Hawthorn College of Sport to provide an industry-led qualification that focuses on a career in sport, fitness, or business. The career outcomes include management roles within sporting organisations, event planner, fitness and wellness program developer, and sport development manager or coach.This role provides high quality and innovative course materials and excellent teaching delivery to students undertaking the Diploma of Sport and/or Diploma of Leadership and Management, to:support student success in courses and thereby improve their employment and/or educational pathwaysensure BHI compliance requirements are metKey subjects that you will teach during the course include Event Management, Workplace Health & Safety, and Business Risk.The Sport/Leadership and Management Teacher is one of several positions in the BHI Foundation College. The position reports to the Coordinator Hawthorn College of Sport and is responsible for liaising with students, relevant industry groups, community services providers, overseas partners, and employees of BHI at all levels.This position is casual and is based at Hawthorn Football Clubs venues including the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Waverly, and Dingley. It is also expected that you may be required to work across any campus of the Box Hill Institute as required including City, Box Hill, or Lilydale.About You:Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE41110 with upgrade units or TAE40116)A relevant degree or approved AQF Level 6 or above qualifications or equivalent combination of training and experienceExperience working within the industry and/or related disciplinesRelevant qualifications must be related to Sport and/or Leadership and Management, including, but not limited to the following areas: Sports Coaching, Sports Science, Sports Psychology, Sport Biomechanics and Technology, Event Management, Leading and managing people, Business Administration, and CommunicationsExperience in planning and researching for the preparation of programs and learning materials and well-developed skills in transferring knowledgeAbility to work and provide support and advice to students and BHI employees of diverse cultures, backgrounds, and abilities, including effective communication, interpersonal, and coordination skills relevant to a learning environmentDemonstrated proficiency in using learning management systems (i.e., Moodle) to create innovative and engaging learning experiences for studentsProven ability to understand and readily adapt to changing circumstances both within and outside of the classroomMotivate and guide students to optimise their learning outcomesAbout Us:We are proud to be a leading education provider with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality educational outcomes.Our organisation comprises Box Hill Institute (Box Hill & Lilydale locations) and the Centre for Adult Education (Melbourne CBD) as well as partnerships across various external sites in Victoria.We are committed to a highly motivated and aligned workforce, so well be by your side to enable you, help you grow, and offer you benefits which enhance your work-life balance.Box Hill Institute is a welcoming, safe, and respectful work environment.
