(Far North Coast, North Coast, Mid Coast, Northern Inland, Hunter Valley, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie)What is the roles primary purpose?Reporting to the General Manager Referee Growth and Development, the primary purpose of the High Performance Referee Coach is to deliver professional growth to the members of the NNSWF State Referee Academy through precise and comprehensive coaching and feedback. The growth and development of the Academy referees shall include a particular emphasis on referee culture and wellbeing. The role is responsible for the creation of a nurturing atmosphere that promotes continuous learning, leveraging personal experiences and a deep grasp of modern football officiating.What will you be doing as High Performance Referee Coach?Provide leadership, education and regular feedback to the talented identified match officials appointed to the NNSWF State Referee Academy by the NNSWF State Referee Committee.Watch matches officiated by the Academy match officials, either in person or by video, and provide coaching and feedback.Hold regular sessions with the Academy match officials to review performances and enhance their ongoing improvement and professional development.Assist with individual performance-focused discussions, hold regular follow-ups and review progress of the Academy match officials throughout the season.Assist in developing a team culture that embraces diverse backgrounds and provides for an inclusive and safe environment that is welcoming to all members of the Academy.Prepare members of the Academy attending national events physically, mentally and emotionally so that they perform as match officials at optimal levels.Assist in the implementation of all FA and NNSWF directives, strategies and initiatives for match official development and retention, which includes positive experiences and engagement for the Academy match officials.Assist, where required, with the appointments of the Academy members.Assist with the provision of video clips of incidents which can be used by NNSWF for the future training of match officials.Spot emerging match official prospects within NNSWF for potential future selection for the NNSWF State Referee Academy.Key Performance Indicators:Oversee and document tangible improvements in the officiating acumen of the members of the NNSWF State Referee Academy.Cultivate an ethos of distinction, prompting match officials to strive for excellence and culminating in enhanced officiating at local level and within FA tournaments.Cultivate cohesive partnerships with key personnel, driving a united effort to uplift the standard of Academy member officiating.Identify future members of the Academy, leaving no promising talent overlooked.Major Interactions:CEO of NNSWFNNSWF General Manager Referee Growth and DevelopmentChair of NNSWF State Referee CommitteeNNSWF Premier Competition match officialsKnowledge, Skills and Experience:You will have match official coaching experience, with a demonstrated ability to coach talented match officials.Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire and develop a team of leading match officials and have experience in implementing effective training and development programs.A strong knowledge of the football and refereeing landscapes within Northern NSW.Extensive refereeing experience, with experience at national competition or event level being highly desirable.Possess a minimum accreditation level of Football Australia (FA) Level 1 Referee, Level 2 Assessor and Level 2 Instructor, or their equivalent.Proficiency in Microsoft suite software and Hudl or similar editing suites.Demonstrated ability to create and deliver educational materials.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently.A valid and current Working with Children Check clearance for paid work.The Fine Print:Due to the nature of this role, it will be a requirement of the High Performance Referee Coach from time to time to work out of hours and at weekends.Work remotely, with significant periods of work away from the office.Benefits of Working at Northern NSW Football:Access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program.Flexible working environments.Regular staff professional development and training.Regular staff social activities to help connect with your teammates.Access to company vehicles for work-related travel, or reimbursement for all work-related travel.Regular performance reviews to help you achieve success.Opportunities to watch and be involved in some of our regions biggest football events.Our Commitment to Diversity:At Northern NSW Football, we respect and celebrate the power of diversity.
