Our values are teamwork, customer focus, innovation, and commitment to safety.Our Aqua Learn to Swim program is offered at Key Venues'' 5 aquatic venues: Blacktown Aquatic Centre, Blacktown Leisure Centre Stanhope, Charlie Lowles Leisure Centre Emerton, and seasonally at Mount Druitt and Riverstone swimming centres. We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals who share a passion for swimming and water safety to join our Aqua Learn to Swim team.Learn to Swim Instructors are responsible for delivering our award-winning Aqua Learn to Swim Program. Our team of dedicated instructors will embrace the Aqua Learn to Swim philosophy of providing a safe, rewarding, and educational experience to all students. We offer instructors casual and flexible hours including afterschool, weekends, and school holidays, as well as access to discounts for programs and services across the 5 aquatic and leisure centres.If you have a passion for water safety education and making a difference in the community, then this is the role for you!Position purpose:The role includes:Delivery of an award-winning learn to swim program that currently caters to over 7000 students across the 5 Aquatic and Leisure CentresProvide consistent and exceptional customer services and support to our students and their families during their Learn to Swim journeyTime Management of class programming and meeting program outcomesAttend scheduled in-service training and team meetings for ongoing professional developmentPromote the importance of swimming and water safety through the Aqua Learn to Swim program to our diverse community members.Qualifications and experienceTeacher of Swimming and Water Safety - AUSTSWIM, Swim Australia, Royal Life Saving or similar standardCurrent CPR CertificateCurrent Working with Children CheckCurrent First AidPool Lifeguard Award or similar standardCoaching/teaching experienceTeacher extension courses including infant and preschool, adults, access and inclusion, and competitive strokesCurrent class C drivers licenceKnowledge of applicable legislation/regulationsRemuneration and benefitsThe salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Councils Enterprise Agreement.Entry level for this role starts at $30.4424 per hour plus 25% casual loadingPenalty rates apply for weekend shiftsEmployee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.Blacktown City Council is committed to safety.
