This role offers the chance to uplift and shape the future of strata and property services regulation in New South Wales, playing a key part in protecting consumers and driving industry reforms.Working in NSW Fair Trading, the Strata and Property Commissioner will provide strategic leadership and oversight in the regulation of strata and property services. In this role, you will build capacity and grow high-performing teams to deliver on key regulatory functions including inspections, mediations, investigations, and prosecutions. You will also guide and support reform efforts in policy, legislation, and service delivery to ensure the regulation is effective and aligned with best practices.Key Responsibilities:Leadership & Team Development: Build, inspire, and lead diverse regulatory teams. Foster a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement to drive impactful regulatory outcomes.Regulatory Strategy & Reform: Provide strategic oversight and drive improved regulation of the strata and property sectors, ensuring policies and processes meet the evolving needs of the community and industry. Lead the development and implementation of reforms to improve consumer protection and industry standards.Stakeholder Engagement & Advice: Become a trusted advisor to the NSW Fair Trading Minister and Commissioner and senior government leaders, providing timely, well-informed strategic advice on key regulatory and policy matters. Also engage with the community, industry stakeholders, and the media.Risk Management & Decision Making: Analyse complex, politically sensitive issues and provide evidence-based, balanced solutions.
