You can see some of our current projects here.Your role?We are looking for a Lookdev Supervisor who reflects the innovative spirit, creative talent, production excellence, collaborative mindset, and passion for great filmmaking that define ILM.The Lookdev Supervisor is responsible for providing project supervision and direction for a team of artists who design and create the lighting and look of CG objects and scenes, ensuring that they are created and rendered according to the designs and visual style of the project. In partnership with the Lighting supervisor(s), this position serves as a role model and mentor for the Lookdev team, with the objective of fostering a collaborative team environment and producing high-quality imagery.What will you be doing?Work closely with other department Supervisors and CG Supervisors to determine the best approach to solving CG challenges and developing the final look.Collaborate with CG Supervisor, Production Manager, and Producers in crewing assignments to ensure the portfolio of work on shows and strategic projects is accomplished efficiently and to a high standard.Work with the VFX and CG Supervisor to provide artistic and technical notes and direction to the team.Build and maintain complex shading networks with artist usability and user-interface support in mind.Collaborate with the Talent manager and Head of Department with the employee review process, providing input on skills, productivity, and career development.Aid Talent in providing performance feedback, facilitating overall team building efforts, and maintaining positive morale amongst the crew.Serve as a role model and mentor for and within the department.To be a contributing member of this team, you will have a mix of these skills:Excellent listening and communication skills, able to receive direction and criticism.Exceptional time management, organizational, and delegation skills.Strong aesthetic eye, anticipating potential problems and using knowledge of how to use the tools to achieve the desired look.Superb problem-solving skills - taking the initiative to offer ideas and suggestions.Engage in the creative process without ego, and accept all final decisions with a positive and supportive attitude.Linux and scripting ability in Python.Advanced look development abilities.Knowledge of Katana and Renderman.This position is with Lucasfilm Entertainment Company Ltd.
