Specialised Quarries & Concrete (SQC) is a family owned and operated quarrying and concrete supply company servicing North-western NSW and abroad for the past 2 years.Combined with our sister business Specialised Civil Services (SCS), the two companies manage over 200 pieces of mission-critical plant and equipment essential to delivering the high-quality products and services our businesses are known for.Due to a vacancy, SQC is hiring a Workshop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Workshop Business Unit from our Narrabri facility. This role is critical to ensuring our business meets its goals and is a key part of our broader management team.Who are we looking for?Reporting to the Group General Manager, the position will have oversight and responsibility for the Workshop Business Unit. We are looking for an extremely motivated individual with the following attributes:Champion safety as the Number 1 priority at all times.Extensive experience in managing a diverse team of passionate tradespeople to achieve safe, quality and commercially sensible maintenance activities in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.Exceptional leadership skills driving end-to-end continuous improvement and quality assurance processes.Experience managing NHVR Mass & Maintenance Management certification.A pragmatic, resilient and solutions-based outlook with a Can-do approach.Experience working with various internal clients demonstrating high-quality problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize works to meet deadlines and operational requirements.Ability to mentor and oversee the learning and development of several apprentices/trainees.Our ideal applicant will possess:5 years'' experience working in a supervisory/management position in a workshop/maintenance planning environment.Proven track record of successfully managing a large fleet of mobile and fixed assets in a manner that recognizes value for money, positive asset lifecycle management, and return on investment.Excellent project management and leadership skills, with the ability to coordinate and motivate a team.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding practical solutions.Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology and/or Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology.What''s in it for you?Fully maintained company vehicle with private use.Salary Packaging options.4 weeks Annual Leave.Training and Development opportunities.Supportive management team.If this seems like an interesting opportunity and you want to have a chat, please feel free to reach out to our Group General Manager Charlie Simkin on 0472 513 295 for a confidential discussion.
