We are constantly learning, embracing the challenges of today and excited by the opportunities that tomorrow will bring.The roleSitting within the Strategic Procurement Team at South East Water, the Commercial Project Manager is responsible for uplifting commercial capability across the enterprise. This 12-month, short-term role will require a collaborative and strategic approach, working across the enterprise to develop a remediation plan for existing contracts and an enterprise framework for strategic contract/commercial and supplier management.Some of the key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:With consultation, manage the remediation of a defined list of critical/high risk contracts.Develop a remediation plan to address contract deficiencies with respect to legal right to audit.Develop strategies for negotiation with suppliers.Review and assess the current Oracle contract management system.Review contract templates and make recommendations for uplift to address gaps in risk.Establish an enterprise approach to contractor/supplier management.Clearly define roles and responsibilities for contract management, aligning to delegations.Develop a Supplier/Partner charter that will underpin relationship management and adopted to enable effective conversations to take place.Create and deliver training to Contract Managers and Senior Leaders on the enterprise contract management process.Who are you?Due to the short-term nature of this role, candidates should be ready to hit the ground running and have a tertiary qualification in business or law and a minimum of six (6) years'' experience working in a contract commercial role.Armed with strong contract management or commercial and supplier relationship management skills, the successful candidate will also possess working knowledge and experience of the following key contract-related areas and tasks:Different contract forms, terms and conditions.Contract Law and risk management.Contract lifecycle tools, processes and templates.Creating performance frameworks for suppliers.Procurement and Contract Lifecycle Advanced skills and experience required.Uplifting commercial contract capabilities across business.Change Management Qualification.Project Management.Training experience and certification.The soft skills required to perform this role well include:Analytical, negotiation and communication skills.Critical thinking, influencing and persuasion skills.What''s in it for you?Working at South East Water means you can enjoy a wealth of benefits, starting with the chance to be part of an organisation deeply committed to environmental initiatives and sustainability; one who has been recognised as one of the top 101 Workplaces for Women in Australia by Work180 for the past two consecutive years.South East Water cultivates a dynamic culture that emphasises collaboration and strong work ethics, supported by career-focused learning and development opportunities.As a SEW employee, you can enjoy the following offerings from our benefits package:Access to My Fitness Passport, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), annual flu shots, and health checks.Life insurance and salary continuance.Additional leave offerings, such as cultural and ceremonial leave and study leave.Head office with modern facilities and panoramic beachfront views, a separate parents'' room, a prayer and meditation room, an onsite cafe, and free parking.Opportunity to be part of great initiatives involving the local community.We''re for everyoneOur people are as diverse as the communities we serve.
