We currently have two permanent opportunities available to support the growing technical training needs of our business, based at our Toowoomba Training Centre.Your opportunity:As a Technical Trainer Specialist, you play a crucial role in developing the skills and knowledge of EQLs apprentices, field staff, and contractors by designing and delivering high-quality technical training.While your primary focus is on distribution training, youre part of a team that delivers over 200 courses, so you occasionally step outside your core area to support evolving priorities and team needs.Day to day, you:Deliver face-to-face training both in the classroom and training yard, you guide apprentices, field staff, and contractors through engaging and hands-on sessions. From electrical fundamentals to linework and power tool handling, to running essential courses like pole climbing, you ensure participants gain the theoretical practical skills and knowledge they need to work safely and effectively in their EQL roles.Develop training programs drawing on your creativity and technical expertise, you design and assess competency-based training programs, tailoring content to industry standards and working closely with subject matter experts out in the field to ensure training is relevant, practical, and impactful.Maintain and develop industry skills you keep your expertise in electrical distribution sharp and up to date and apply this knowledge in training, ensuring EQLs workforce stays aligned with the latest industry standards and practices.Undertake compliance activities you maintain training records, meet audit requirements, and ensure EQLs training programs remain accredited and effective.Travel across the state as needed while the Toowoomba Training Centre is your base, you occasionally travel to other training centres and EQL sites to support your team.Your remuneration starts from $152k per annum + 14.75% super for a 9-day fortnight, and from $172k per annum + 14.75% super for a 10-day fortnight.For more information about this role, click on the Position Description link located at the bottom of the page.Whats on offer?At Energy Queensland, we believe in supporting every aspect of your career and personal life. Heres what you can expect:Invest in your future: Secure employment, 14.75% superannuation with a fund of your choice and comprehensive income protection to ensure your financial security.More time for you: Achieve a healthy work-life balance on a 72-hour, 9-day fortnight roster.Leave for real life: Access to additional health and wellbeing, culture and diversity leave options.What youll bring:Youre an experienced technical trainer with a strong background in delivering training and assessment in the electrical industry.You hold the following essential qualifications, licences, and experience:Certificate III in Electrical Supply Industry (ESI) Distribution Overhead, or Distribution Underground, or Certificate III in ElectrotechnologyQLD Electrical Workers License (Fitter, Mechanic, Linesperson, or Cable Jointer)Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)Proven experience delivering technical trade and post-trade training in a structured training environment.You have a deep understanding of industry standards, safety requirements, and technical competencies, ensuring training is both practical and effective. Your strong communication skills allow you to engage diverse audiences, from apprentices to highly skilled tradespeople, adapting your delivery to suit their needs.As a self-motivated and adaptable professional, you work well both independently and as part of a team.Youre comfortable with travel requirements to support training across multiple locations as needed.
