Applicants must have suitable qualifications and experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Accounting, Risk Management, Auditing, Legal.Cardinia Shire Council has established an Audit & Risk Committee pursuant to Section 53 of the Local Government Act 2020 to support Council in discharging its oversight responsibilities related to financial and performance reporting, risk management, fraud prevention systems and control, maintenance of a sound internal control environment, assurance activities including internal and external audit and Councils performance with regard to compliance with its policies and legislative and regulatory requirements.Independent members are appointed for 4 year terms and may be reappointed for one additional four year term subject to satisfactory performance. Independent members must collectively have expertise in financial management and reporting, risk management and also experience in public sector management.
