We provide a wide range of aged care services and programs to support elders and their families.Through our core values of Respect, Do Right, Bring Joy and Inspire Better, we deliver a Bounty of Care that provides for the cultural, spiritual and health needs the elders in our care.More than 950 people choose to work at Fronditha Care, caring for elders across our 5 residential facilities in Melbourne and Newcastle, in their homes and in the community, across metropolitan Melbourne.About the opportunityReporting to the Executive General Manager People and Culture, and a key member of the P&C leadership team, this newly created role of WHS Manager will manage and promote workplace health and safety programs and initiatives, aligned to Fronditha Cares strategic objectives and compliance obligations. The WHS Manager will partner with the business to provide proactive advice and guidance to empower our people to apply safe work practices in their work and care delivery.The day-to-day responsibilitiesEnsure compliance with legislation, regulations and OHS and ACQS standards, are documented and embedded across all business units in policies, procedures and systems.Implement the WHS Governance Framework and Management Plan.Lead investigations into safety related incidents and provide recommendations to senior management.Ensure safety committees, risk assessments, registers and associated systems and records are in place and managed in accordance with compliance requirements.Manage emergency management and participate in the business continuity program meetings and associated committees.Manage a dedicated RTW Advisor and oversee injury management, claims and return to work outcomes.Working with P&C leadership, to develop wellbeing and psychosocial programs and build knowledge and capability through learning initiatives.Develop and deliver safety related training including new employee orientation/induction, toolbox talks, campaigns as per WHS plan in collaboration with P&C colleagues.Develop WHS performance scorecard and report on risk and safety performance to drive continuous improvement.Prepare monthly and quarterly statistical data and reports to present to Executive and Board.What success looks like for this roleExtensive experience working in a similar role within the aged care, community care or health services sectors preferred.Extensive knowledge of OHS legislation, regulations and standards in VIC and NSW.Demonstrated knowledge and experience in injury management, Workcover, and return to work, both VIC and NSW schemes.Experience managing safety audit programs to ensure effective compliance.Effective leadership and mentoring skills.Experience in emergency and enterprise risk management.Strong consulting, influencing, negotiation and collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders.Strong written and verbal communication skills and high attention to detail.Effective problem solving and decision-making skills, with an adaptable and proactive style in managing challenges.Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.Strong computer literacy across the range of Microsoft Office suite and OHS systems.Relevant tertiary qualification in OHS/WHS or equivalent. Incident investigation and lead auditor certifications are desirable.Willingness to undertake a current Police Check.Must have a current drivers licence and able to travel to sites across Melbourne and interstate.First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certification desirable.An understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity.Why choose a career with Fronditha Care?Fronditha Care is driven by our ethos of providing a Bounty of Care that extends to our clients and employees.
