Live & Learn Therapy is a sole trader-operated mobile paediatric OT service providing high quality, person-centred care to children and teens in Sydney. We support children with a range of developmental, sensory, physical, and behavioural needs in their homes, schools, and community environments. We are currently seeking an experienced paediatric OT to join the team for maternity cover.About The RoleThis is a contractor position with flexible working hours, where you will be responsible for delivering assessments, therapy sessions, and tailored intervention plans to children. You will be working independently while receiving administrative support and guidance from the sole trader owner.The successful candidate will work with children and teens to develop life skills, enhance their functional independence, and support their sensory, motor, and cognitive development.The position is for 2 days, working with a maximum of 5 clients per day but there is potential to extend beyond the maternity cover period, based on service demand and performance.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct comprehensive paediatric assessments, including sensory, motor, and developmental evaluations.Develop and implement individualised therapy plans that are person-centred and family-centred.Provide high quality therapy sessions for children in various environments (home, school, community).Use evidence-based practices to address daily living skills, handwriting, executive functioning, and emotional regulation.Work collaboratively with families, carers, and educational staff to support goal-setting and progress.Monitor and review progress, adjusting therapy plans as necessary to ensure best outcomes.Maintain detailed, accurate, and up-to-date records of client progress and service delivery.Communicate effectively with a diverse range of clients and stakeholders.Follow all relevant professional standards and guidelines for paediatric OT practice.Ideal CandidateA recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelors or Masters degree)Valid Australian Business Number (ABN)Professional indemnity and liability insuranceFull and current AHPRA registration as an Occupational TherapistA National Police checkWorking With Children CheckMedicare provider number or capacity to obtainOwn mode of transport to clientsStrong understanding of sensory integration, executive functioning, and emotional regulation in children and teensAbility to build rapport with children, teens, and families in a compassionate and engaging wayExperience working in schools, or community settings is a plusAbility to work independently and manage a varied caseloadBenefits and Perks!The flexibility to manage your own schedule and caseloadA chance to work in a dynamic and rewarding environment, making a real difference to childrens livesOpportunities for professional development and potential to extend the role beyond maternity coverSupport from a friendly, experienced team who value collaboration and high standards of careIf you are passionate about empowering young people with essential life skills, wed love to hear from you!How to ApplyTo apply, please contact Mason via email at livelearntherapy@outlook.comApplications Close: 28 February 2025Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeContractJob functionHealth Care ProviderIndustriesPhysical, Occupational and Speech Therapists #J-18808-Ljbffr
