The appointee will be responsible for providing family dispute resolution services (mediation) with specific work tasks to include:Identifying problem-solving options and strategies and providing assistance in clarifying clients problems and disputesAssisting parents negotiate sustainable and workable parenting plansAssisting parents negotiate financial settlements when these present alongside parenting issuesProviding assessment in relation to the provision of Certificates as required by Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner RegulationsFacilitation of group programs where requiredProviding guidance relating to property and financial mattersWorking with the LGBTIQ Community to provide Better Pride specialist servicesRequired Qualifications and ExperienceProspective candidates must be able to demonstrate registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner together with a proven ability to work within the Family Law Act. Knowledge of the effects of separation and divorce on families is essential as is an understanding of the concepts and philosophy of family dispute resolution including mediation. Other essential criteria include the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to issues as they arise, excellent communication skills, well-developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to rapidly build rapport with clients.
