The Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) Manager is responsible for developing and executing WHS strategies to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and a strong safety culture across VetPartners. Reporting to the HR Director and accountable to the Governance Committee, this role oversees the WHS Management System, workers compensation, return-to-work programs, and insurance policies. The WHS Manager also monitors WHS-related financials, provides board reporting, and collaborates with stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety.Key ResponsibilitiesLead WHS Strategy & Compliance Develop and implement workplace safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.Oversee Workers'' Compensation & Return-to-Work Programs Manage complex claims and rehabilitation processes, ensuring effective and timely support for employees.Drive Risk & Hazard Management Identify, assess, and mitigate workplace risks through proactive strategies.Manage WorkCover Insurance Policies & Claims Progression Review policies, liaise with insurers, and ensure claims are effectively handled to minimise costs.Deliver Financial Oversight & Board Reporting Monitor WHS-related costs, track KPIs, and present insights to executive leadership and the board.Skills, Attributes, and Experience:Proven experience in WHS management, workplace safety, and compliance for Australia and New Zealand.Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management frameworks, and injury prevention.Experience in workers compensation & insurance claims management.Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.Excellent communication and leadership skills to drive a culture of safety.Qualifications in WHS (Certificate IV or higher), with return-to-work certification desirable.Why VetPartners?At VetPartners, we''re more than just a company we''re a family united by our passion for animal welfare and excellence in veterinary care.
