The Investigation & Response Units are dynamic workplaces with ever-changing workflow and competing priorities.The Central Gippsland SOCIT (Sex Offences and Child Investigation team) office is situated within the Multi-Disciplinary Centre (MDC) in Morwell. The SOCIT responds to and investigates sex offences and child abuse-related crimes and consists of specially trained investigators. The unit covers Latrobe, Baw Baw, Bass Coast, and South Gippsland local government areas and works closely with support agencies such as DFFH and GCASA.The Administrative/Property Officer will perform a broad range of office support and computer-based tasks including generation and updating of reports and data entry, uploading information, creation of spreadsheets, and general correspondence. The role will predominantly use police-generated information systems and databases. The role will work closely with investigators and will assist with the governance of critical information and procedures. Additionally, the role will undertake tasks as required by the unit manager and assist with the property management portfolio within the office. The duties will involve exposure to confidential and sensitive data and information. The position involves exposure to investigations and offences of a sexual nature and/or child abuse.Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.Your duties will include:Data entry, undertake filing, record document movements, facilitate postage and document uploading.Answering incoming phone calls and close interaction with investigators regarding data management.Maintain supply of stationary products and other operational equipment within the Multi-Disciplinary Centre (MDC).Maintain legally regulated VARE database.Other correspondence or administrative functions as required by the Station Commander or Crime Investigators.Manage the entry and storage of incoming and outgoing seized and surrendered property within the custody of the organisational unit.Prepare monthly compliance reports.As the successful applicant, you will have:Ability to work in a dynamic team environment and manage multiple tasks.Good knowledge of computer skills as a large part of the role is IT based.Good written and oral communication skills and ability to review and interpret information.Familiarity with data security, confidentiality, and privacy provisions.Highly motivated and able to conduct duties unsupervised.Flexibility to work in various locations as required by management, performing a range of administrative tasks.Great team player and able to work harmoniously with others.Ability to manage workplace stressors and resilience from the exposure to sex offences and child abuse themed investigations.Requirements and relevant information:Position is located at 31-41 Buckley Street, Morwell.
