Council''s leadership team, WHS Committee and Health & Wellbeing Champions are committed to driving innovation and enhancing the way we work and as such, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the Waverley Council.Developing, implementing and monitoring Council''s WHS Management SystemWorking closely with our Health & Wellbeing Champions to develop and implement Council''s Health & Wellbeing Program and associated activitiesProviding effective specialist WHS and wellbeing advice and guidance to the leadership team and staffCoaching, guiding and mentoring Council''s leadership team to ensure best practice safe systems of work are in place and that Council''s safety culture is continually enhancedProviding support to the Executive Team to ensure Council''s WHS Plans at both the organisational and directorate levels are developed, implemented and monitoredProviding regular WHS related reporting to the leadership teamAbout youTertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Work Health and SafetyDemonstrated experience influencing and negotiating at all levels of an organisationProven record in achieving improved safety awarenessDemonstrated ability to generate user-friendly statistical reports and strategic analysisUnderstanding and commitment to EEO principles in a culturally diverse workforceDemonstrated experience in a similar role where you have had to lead Safety & Wellbeing for an organisation with a diverse range of functionsSound understanding of the Recover at Work processDemonstrated experience in building effective relationships at all levels of an organisationThe ability to deliver safety & wellbeing trainingOutstanding communication skills and ability to prepare meaningful reportsStrong project management skills and the ability to plan and deliver a range of tasks and projectsA background in Local Government is desirablePlease refer to the position description for detailed information on the position and required skills and experience.
