Position Number: 0049734Location: ParkvilleRole type: Full-time; Fixed-term for 12 monthsFaculty: The Faculty of EducationSalary: Level B $119,231 $141,581 p.a. plus 17% superAdvance research and scholarship within the Assessment and Evaluation Research Centre, contributing to national and international projects on key assessment policy and research questions.Enhance the Centre''s quantitative research capacity while working collaboratively with leading academics and professionals to shape the future of educational assessment.About the RoleThe Lecturer in Assessment and Evaluation will play a pivotal role in advancing the work of the Assessment and Evaluation Research Centre (AERC) within the Faculty of Education. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to both teaching and high-quality, impactful research on key assessment policy and methods. The successful candidate will collaborate within a dynamic research team, engage in national and international projects, and enhance the Centres quantitative research capacity.Your ResponsibilitiesDesigning, conducting, and analysing research projects, including data collection, report writing, and presenting findings to diverse audiences.Developing and reviewing curriculum, preparing and delivering lectures and seminars, and providing timely feedback to students while supporting their academic progress.Supervising and assessing students, including those on placement, and contributing to the coordination and administration of subjects and programs.Engaging in scholarly activities, publishing research, applying for funding, and contributing to national and international conferences while fostering professional networks in the field.Who We Are Looking ForYou are a highly collaborative and adaptable individual, able to work effectively within a research team while also demonstrating the initiative and independence to drive your own projects forward. With a commitment to continuous professional development, you are open to new ideas and approaches, fostering an inclusive and supportive academic culture.Minimum RequirementsA doctoral qualification or substantial progress towards a doctorate in Education, Statistics, or a related field, meeting the professional registration requirements for teaching.Proven experience in educational assessment and reporting, with a strong understanding of the fields key principles and practices.Demonstrated ability to carry out both quantitative and qualitative research, including data analysis, and meeting project deadlines.Strong organisational and time management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work both independently and as part of a team.This role requires that the successful candidate must undergo and maintain an up-to-date Working with Children Check. This is essential to guarantee a secure environment for all individuals at the University.
