We welcome applications from all ages and genders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, the LGBTIQ+ community, veterans and people with disabilities.About the opportunityAre you passionate about driving change, educating communities and championing sustainable resource recovery?This is an exciting term contract, full-time opportunity for up to 35 months for a suitably qualified professional to lead and deliver engagement programs to support the delivery of a new resource recovery service at the largest Council in NSW.If you''re a dedicated environmental or education professional with a passion for waste reduction, organics recycling and community initiatives, wed love to hear from you.Be part of a great team who will deliver change to our community!Qualifications and experienceMinimum degree level qualifications in an environmental, educational discipline or equivalentStrong capacity or solid experience in the development of strategies, policies and programs related to environmental sustainability and/or waste managementProven project management skills, with a strong record of achievement in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating a broad range of programs and projectsDemonstrated high level of oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations, write correspondence, complex reports, grant applications and award submissionsAbility to prepare and manage engagement material across social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and YouTubeDemonstrated commitment to customer serviceAbility to work within a team environmentAvailability to work flexible working hoursDemonstrated commitment to, and an understanding of, WHS issues and EEO principles in the workplaceCurrent class C driver''s licence.Remuneration and benefitsThe salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Councils Enterprise Agreement.Entry level for this position starts at $1,730.04 per weekOpportunity to participate in Council''s flextime arrangementEmployee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 11.5% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.Our commitment to safetyBlacktown City Council is committed to safety.
