Location: Melbourne | Northern MetropolitanJob type: Fixed term / From 2025-01-28 to 2025-02-25Salary: $60,000 per annum pro-rata + 11.5% superannuation. Reasonable overtime will be offered which can be taken as a 25% salary loading equating to $15,000 p.a. by agreement.Work location: Eildon campus.THE OPPORTUNITYHolmesglen seeks a passionate, skilled Sous Chef to join our Eildon team. Working alongside the Head Chef and kitchen staff in a well-equipped commercial kitchen, the Sous Chef will craft creative dishes with local ingredients. The hours for this position primarily cater to conferencing groups throughout the week, offering a varied schedule. While there''s some weekend work, this role stands out from typical Chef positions.This role suits Murrindindi locals or those keen to relocate, championing seasonal, sustainable, and locally sourced cuisine in both corporate and student menus.ABOUT YOUCertificate IV level apprenticeship in Cooking and possesses relevant certifications in Health and Safety, Food Handling, and Hygiene.Sound knowledge and previous experience working in a similar position in the Hospitality Industry.Proven ability to operate efficiently under strict timelines and accommodate large-scale catering.Competency in preparing a wide variety of food to suit a variety of occasions, cultures, and budgets.Adaptable to adjusting client requirements, with strong scheduling and planning abilities.Evidence of eligibility to work in Australia.ABOUT USHolmesglen at Eildon is a purpose-built Conference facility and a campus of Holmesglen Institute - Victorias largest and most successful providers of Vocational & Higher Education.The Eildon facility accommodates conference groups, functions, and events with accommodation on site for 150 guests. In addition, the facility hosts Holmesglen student groups for retreats and activities, also Holmesglen staff for Professional Development.
