Job Description

Directly reporting to the Maas Repairs Operations Manager (QLD), this position will work within the Maas workshop environments for Plant, Heavy Vehicle, Light Vehicle and Underground.The Spare Parts / Storeperson will procure parts for internal repairs and assist in procuring parts for project sites as needed. This role will coordinate pickups and deliveries, manage inventory, purchasing, and invoicing. The role will cover Plant, Trucks, and Light Vehicles while working closely with workshop managers, mechanics, and admin staff.Emphasis is placed on procurement based on quality and price, ensuring swift delivery and accuracy of parts to minimize repair downtime for machines both on-site and in the workshops.Key responsibilities:Continuous Improvement for Safe Work practices.Participation in all toolbox meetings held at 7 am on weekdays.Work within workshop rules and regulations.Liaising daily with the Maas Repairs Operations Manager (QLD), workshop managers, and supervisors.Purchasing parts and consumables to supply workshops and technicians in the field.Allocating parts and consumables to correct assets through the implementation of a purchase order system.Working to tight schedules while maintaining the highest standards.Adopting and continuing with Lean practices to ensure quality and cost efficiency with all parts and consumables, reducing waste through incorrect parts, and implementing a strict return for credit policy for unused items.Planning and maintaining stock levels for critical parts and consumables to ensure workshop repair needs are met daily.Maintaining an organized and clean parts and warehouse environment with regular stock takes on parts.Picking up parts from local suppliers and arranging freight as needed for buy-ins.Challenging oneself with a mindset of best practice and continuous improvement.Maintaining professional and clear communication with all company staff.Knowledge and experience required:Strong commitment to Work Health and Safety.Strong parts interpreting skills with experience in Heavy machinery such as Plant and Trucks preferred.Sound knowledge of Heavy Machinery and Plant preferred.Sound knowledge of Cat and Komatsu preferred.Sound knowledge of Kenworth, Mack, and Toyota preferred.Outstanding work ethic and commitment to getting the job done.An approachable person who is willing to help.A team player who is action-focused and result-oriented, who quickly comes up to speed on machine requirements.Ability to problem solve and engage peers to achieve the best possible outcomes.Strong communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.Experience in working in a high-performance team. #J-18808-Ljbffr
