New Dawn Enterprises / 37 Nepean Street, SydneyDetailsDeadline to apply:January 24, 2025 / 4:00 pmHuman Resources (hr@newdawn.ca)Schedule:Funding Based, Full-TimeCompensation:$65,000 - $75,000 annuallyNumber of openings:1About the PositionJob DescriptionThe Coordinated Access Manager is responsible for the set-up, management, promotion, adoption, and ongoing development of the Coordinated Access in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM).Funded by the CBRM Reaching Home Community Entity, Coordinated Access aims to bring together organizations that serve individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to articulate and achieve a set of community objectives that include a reduction in chronic homelessness, a reduction in homelessness overall and for priority populations, reductions in new inflows to homelessness, and a reduction in returns to homelessness.The Coordinated Access Manager serves as the secretariat to the Governance committee and works with the Governance committee and other community stakeholders to examine and accomplish the objectives laid out in the Reaching Home Coordinated Access Guide.Duties and ResponsibilitiesGovernance CommitteeCoordinate and regularly convene local governance committeeEnsure governance committee includes appropriate representationRecommend and outreach to new potential committee members as neededSupport committee in timely decision-making to advance CA programEnsure committee has current Terms of Reference (Roles and Responsibilities)Ensure committee has articulated clear coordinated access outcomes, local priority populations, and 12-month governance committee goalsOnboard new committee membersRecord keeping for committeeHIFIS Implementation and ComplianceEnsure implementation and compliance among primary group of usersBuild understanding and adoption among secondary group of usersCreate visual materials to aid in broader understanding and adoptionWork to build trust in HIFIS and its management and knowledge of its importanceAssist in troubleshooting for usersSystem Map (Creation and Maintenance)Create a system map of services for homeless/at-risk of homelessness populationsSet up map as precursor to future Coordinated Access Shared Resources InventoryConsider making map available online/searchable/designed for community usersData Management, Analysis, and Sharing for Community Planning and EducationEnsure policies and protocols in place and adhered to for data privacy and safetyRespond to data breaches and improve system to avoid future breachesIf/as needed create user guides to enhance data privacy and safetyIdentify junctures and ways to analyze and share data with governance committee, other stakeholders, community, municipality, and province in service of elimination of homelessnessAccess Points (AP), AP Protocols, Shared Assessment and Triage ToolsWork with local governance committee towards the set-up and promotion (communication throughout community) of CA access points and protocolsWork with the committee towards a set of shared assessment and triage toolsWork towards a coordinated system that both serves local needs and achieves the full potential of coordinated access in the CBRMQualificationsRelevant post-secondary education or equivalent experienceMinimum of three (3) years in housing or community development/community engagementExperience working with and advocating for vulnerable populationsAbility to work independently, as part of a team, and with guidanceExceptional attention to detail and verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively with others and lead others towards a shared goalHighly organized and ability to work well under pressureProficiency with Microsoft suite of programs and applicationsHigh level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountabilityUnderstands servant leadership and community-centricityExperience using, and ideally managing/manipulating databasesCompassion, empathy, diplomacy, and problem solvingWork ConditionsTravel may be requiredManual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripheralsOvertime may be required; working evenings/weekends as neededInteracts with employees, management, and the public at largeEnvironment can be busy and/or noisy at timesTotal Compensation PackageNew Dawn Enterprises believes in supporting the well-being of employees and, in service of this, has created the following compensation package for salaried employees of New Dawn Enterprises, in addition to their salaries:Reduced Hours Work WeekIn recognition of the benefits of greater work-life balance and the value of flexibility and autonomy for human wellbeing, New Dawn has adopted a Reduced Hour Work Week. All full-time salaried employees are required to work thirty-two (32) hours per week. These hours can be worked over four (4) or five (5) days. At the start of employment, a schedule will be determined to meet the needs of the company and the employee.Paid VacationAll full-time salaried employees are entitled to one hundred and twenty (120) hours of paid vacation, annually.Paid Mental & Physical Health DaysAll full-time salaried employees are entitled to fifty-six (56) hours of paid leave for mental and physical health, annually. These days can be used to take time off work for physical and/or mental wellness/illness, and to attend appointments for the employee and/or their dependents.Paid HolidaysNew Dawn observes the following thirteen (13) public holidays: New Years Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, Thanksgiving Day, Remembrance Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day.In the spirit of family, the President & CEO reserves the right to close New Dawn administrative offices between Christmas Day and New Years Day to enable employees to spend time with their families without requiring them to use vacation hours. This decision is reviewed annually based on operational requirements.Group Health Employee BenefitsGroup benefits for employees and dependents are provided by Group Health. Fifty percent (50%) of benefit premiums are paid by the employer, with the exception of Long-Term Disability where benefit premiums are paid fully (100%) by the employee.Self-Directed Registered Retirement Savings PlanNew Dawn offers salaried employees retirement savings matching for self-directed retirement savings plans after completion of three (3) months of employment. Employees may choose to contribute up to 5% of their gross salary to a retirement savings plan, deducted from their pay cheque.
