Select how often (in days) to receive an alert:Work Location: Fortescues Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.Roster: 7D7R or 14D14R - FIFO ex PerthFortescue are currently seeking an experienced Water Services Operator to join the infrastructure team based at Solomon on a 7:7 or 2:2 roster.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsuring that water entering plant is treated to meet regulatory standardsRegulate water flow through stages of treatmentUsing proper methods to treat water, monitor plant for unclean water, and correct any problems as soon as possibleEnsuring the proper execution of water treatment processes while complying with all safety requirementsUse appropriate chemicals to treat water and wastewaterTake samples and monitor water qualityKeep accurate records of all treatments and readings takenCarry out routine maintenance on treatment equipment and report faults to engineersQualifications and ExperienceExperience operating a treatment plantCertificate III in Water Industry Operations or relevant experienceThe ability to follow processes and proceduresAn understanding of health and safety regulationsObservational skills and attention to detailDemonstrated experience with SCADA including the ability to analyse trendsKnowledge about water treatment process, chemicals, filtration, and other aspects of water treatment.Operator must have the ability to read and understand water treatment plant schematics, manuals, and other documents in order to carry out daily tasksRequires knowledge of water chemistry, wastewater treatment process and plant operations.Be able to work independently and as part of a teamAbout UsBe part of something big.
