This role involves working with individuals and families to address their unique needs, leveraging community resources, and fostering a collaborative approach to service delivery. The Youth and Family Worker will adhere to the Youth Worker Code of Ethics Principles, Housing First for Youth Principles, and Family-Centered Practice.The Youth and Family Worker is part of a collaborative team that delivers the Young Womens Program. They engage with young women and their families using a therapeutic, strengths-based approach in a caring and supportive environment. The Program provides accommodation, support, and advocacy for young women aged 15-25 with or without children.We are looking for a skilled individual to work on a rostered basis working 60 hours per fortnight in 10-hour shifts.This role is offered on Permanent basis at our Armadale. If this sounds like something of interest, we would like to hear from you!If you would be keen to join us, we are now seeking a passionate and committed professional to join our team who can:Prioritise the immediate needs of youth for safe, stable housing by advocating for their needs and rights at interagency and networking meetings.Provide individualised support that respects the unique needs of each young person by including young people in the creation of strength-based and radically personalised care plans.Focus on harm reduction and non-judgmental approaches by using therapeutic interventions, including counselling, group work and case management.Promote social inclusion and community integration by creating opportunities for young people to be involved in community-based activities.Recognise and respect the central role of families in the lives of young people by seeking ways in which young people can be connected with family and community and is culturally safe.Support young people in building their capacity to nurture and support their children by delivering interventions that promote independent living/healthy behaviours and strengthen parenting skills and the parent-child relationships.Ensure risk management and incident reports are completed in accordance with Parkerville policies and procedures.Work as part of a multi-discipline team, attend case review, training and supervision meetings as required.The successful candidate for this role will be able to:Certificate IV in Youth Work or the equivalent / Diploma of Youth Work.Minimum of 2 years experience working with youth and families in a community-based setting.Strong understanding of the principles and practices outlined above.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Valid drivers license and access to reliable transportation.A current Provide First Aid Certificate (St Johns Ambulance or approved equivalent) must be obtained before commencing employment.Parkerville Children and Youth Care are uniquely positioned to provide the successful applicant with the following benefits.SCHADS Schedule C Paypoint and Level C1 $37.35Discounted Health Insurance PlansEAP Service with Wellness resourcesSalary Packaging of up to $15,900Parkerville Children and Youth Care have a zero tolerance to alcohol and drugs.It is essential that all applicants meet the above criteria and are permitted to work and remain in Australia with no limitations.We hope to hear from you by 4:00pm, Wednesday, 19 February 2025.
