The role of Category Manager will plan, build and deliver a shopper led channel specific trade plan, utilising industry knowledge to source and negotiate the best deals with national and local suppliers. Ensuring a competitive value proposition and promotional schedule to service our retailers. Drive innovation and differentiation in products and range, and own and manage supplier relationships. Deliver sales per square metre growth for the IGA supermarket network. We have openings across both Pantry & Impulse.In this Role You willDeliver on retail sales and income budget and drive improvements in COGS.Develop and deliver category range, pricing and promotional plans that are aligned to the strategic priorities of each channel.Be the subject matter expert for the business for category growth strategies, utilising internal and external insights.Own and manage all supplier relationships including the supplier profitability to our network (wholesale and retail) by channel, DIFOT, JBPs, Supplier Engagement.Negotiate the best commercial out-come for Retailers and Metcash.Develop and deliver the category private label strategy.Conduct periodic trading performance reviews, making recommendations for performance improvement.Youre Likely a Match If You HaveStrong negotiation skills with demonstrated ability to work with Suppliers for mutual growth.Previous experience in Category Management including Promotional planning.Sound knowledge of Shopper and Category trends, having demonstrated your application of these in a similar FMCG environment.Customer focused and collaborative, who can influence in an internal matrix structure and with external stakeholders.Commercial Acumen with intimate knowledge of the drivers of success in Category Management.Proven record of delivering category strategies & plans that are clearly communicated, believed, enabled and delivered.Life at MetcashExperience a supportive and flexible work environment.
