The role of the CSSD technician is to ensure safe treatment cycles for patients receiving fertility treatment through Genea by being responsible for the checking, sorting, cleaning, inspection, packing, wrapping, sterilization, storage, and delivery of Reusable Medical materials.General ResponsibilitiesClean, prepare, and sterilize surgical instruments, following infection control policies and AS 5369:2023 standards.Safely operate mechanical washers and sterilizers, ensuring accurate documentation and monitoring of sterilization cycles.Perform safety checks on electro-surgical equipment before sterilization and report any malfunctions.Prioritize instrument cleaning based on theatre needs and ensure proper handling and packaging of instruments.Manage sterile stock and minimize equipment wastage by identifying repair needs. Maintain professional development, contribute to team communication, and ensure effective resource management.QualificationsWe are seeking an experienced CSSD technician for this role, someone with Certificate III or IV in sterilisation services and knowledge and understanding of AS 5369:2023 Standards.
