About the opportunity The Senior Estimator is part of the Brighton Projects Multi-residential Estimating team and reports to the General Manager. The key focus of this role is to work across multiple projects to accurately determine and calculate the materials and trades required based on the contract documentation, plans, selections, etc ensuring a high-quality file is delivered to the construction team, whilst training and mentoring new staff members. More specifically, you will: Complete take offs and collate tender pricing Analyse, negotiate and revise inclusions with trade and contractor pricing Collate and manage contract pricing Check contract plans for accuracy prior to release for construction Ensure the efficient and accurate production of building estimates and track any upward costs Make adjustments to material use to meet target requirements Communicate with internal and external stakeholders Complete quantity take-offs for building materials & labour Create accurate templates and issue purchase orders Work closely with the construction team to improve material efficiencies onsite Perform other associated administrative duties About you You will share a passion for our purpose and be aligned to our core values; better together, be accountable, people matter and think bigger. In addition, you will: A minimum of 3 years estimating experience in a similar role and industry Ideally within Multi-residential Strong planning/organising and effective workflow management skills Understanding of the National Construction Code Experience training and coaching other estimators to ensure quality assurance and skills enhancement Exceptional computer skills with a medium to advanced knowledge of Excel Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and strive to reach targets A team player that can also work independently and take on the role as their own Experience in BusinessCraft, and bluebeam would be advantageous but is not essential Interested?
