The average pay for a software engineer is about $64,000 annually, and according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, jobs are expected to grow a whopping 17% from 2014 to 2024.  To make it more likely to land a position as a software engineer, it is recommended that you have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field.
