With remote customer support jobs on the rise, it is now much easier for students, stay-at-home moms and military spouses who relocate often to have a steady source of income. While you won’t be making six figures, most of these jobs only require a high school degree (or GED) and computer with Internet connection. Here are some of the companies who are joining in this effort, and hiring for high volumes of legitimate remote customer support jobs.
1) Amazon
It was announced in April that Amazon will be creating 5,000 new part-time remote customer support jobs over the next year. The rise of online shopping has resulted in a growing need for support for products and deliveries for Amazon customers all over the country. These 5,000 remote customer support jobs are part of the 30,000 part-time jobs and 100,000 full time jobs Amazon is looking to fill this year. The hourly pay is between $10 and $12 an hour, but Amazon employees that work at least 20 hours a week are entitled to health benefits, tuition reimbursement, bonuses and paid training. There is also opportunity for overtime with some of these jobs.
For these remote customer support jobs, you must be flexible with scheduling and willing to work holidays. You also must live in one of the following states: Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Virginia.
2) U-Haul
Summer is a very busy time for U-Haul, since it is a preferred time for many people to move. U-Haul needs a lot of people to fill remote customer support jobs, some of which start in their physical call center and transition to work from home jobs. They are also hiring for remote reservation agents and roadside assistance agents. These are all part-time jobs that pay between $10 and $15 an hour with paid online training and benefits including medical coverage, dental coverage, 401k and U-Haul discounts. Since U-Haul was started by a veteran, U-Haul is very military friendly. Most of these remote customer support jobs are seasonal, but could potentially lead to full-time opportunities.
3) Working Solutions
Working Solutions provides remote customer support services to a number of clients, so once you are assigned to a client, you would have to be trained on their products and services. Some of the industries they serve are retail, travel and healthcare. Working Solutions employees are independent contractors, and the pay depends on the client. Working Solutions is the highest-rated company for work-from-home customer support jobs, with 110,000 registered agents.
4) Convergys
Like Working Solutions, Convergys offers customer support services to a variety of clients, including cable and wireless providers. They currently have 78,000 employees, and are looking to fill many more remote customer support jobs in three main areas: sales and service, customer service and technical support. Pay and hours vary on the location and client you are serving, and benefits include medical, dental and vision insurance, 401k, performance bonuses and tuition reimbursement.
