Full Job Description Cheema Transports, Inc. is a family-based company located in Kingsburg CA. The company is established in 2011, serving our great customers with excellence and bringing their goods in a safe and timely manner. We are seeking a dependable and organized Class A truck driver who possesses a great deal of physical and mental stamina who thrives working long hours on the road and can consistently ensure safe and accurate deliveries. Must be detail-oriented, efficient, and have a clean driving record. Class A Driver Requirements and Qualification: * High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred * Valid Class A driver's license required * Current DMV printout within last 7 days * Current medical certificate * 1+ years proven experience with tractor-trailer and reefer unit preferred * Clean driving record with no moving violations in the last 1 year * Must pass a background check and drug test * Skilled at driving, maneuvering, and parking large vehicles: 53' tractor-trailer, reefers * Alert, focused, and detail-oriented * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time * Proficient using GPS and other routing systems * ELD - Electronic Log Device experience * Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful with an innate sense of direction * High level of composure and good stress management * Follow accident investigation and reporting procedures * Keep commercial driving license up to date Class A Truck Driver Job Duties and Responsibilities: * Always make safety a priority * Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned delivery vehicle * Drive trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) over 26,000 lbs. * Pull a towed weight exceeding 10,000 lbs. * Ensure trailer hitch is properly and securely attached to the tractor unit * Transport goods, etc. from the place of origin to assigned destination * Ensure contents are properly secured inside of the truck to prevent breakage or damage * Ensure timely deliveries * Communicate with dispatch as needed * Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document * Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip * Check weather conditions and road reports before departure * Always ensure your vehicle is kept clean * Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered * Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times * Maintain driving logs according to the applicable rules * Adhere to company policies and applicable federal and states rules and regulations * Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive according to the weather/road conditions We Offer: * New model equipment * Assigned power unit * 100% No Touch Freight * Pay by load or pay by the hour * Additional pay for extra picks * Bi-weekly pay * W2 - Direct deposit * Long Haul: * Dedicated lanes available * Main Lanes: * Dallas, TX * Kingsburg, Bakersfield, LA, & Stockton, CA Contact Information: * Job Types: Solo, Full-time, Part-time, On-call, etc., contact for inquiries * Call: 1 (559) 634 - 9109 ext. 5 (Mon-Fri 8-3, Sat 8-11) * Text: 1 (559) 202 - 0114 (Mon-Fri 8-3, Sat 8-11) * After - hours Text: 1 (559) - 747 - 9363
